Day 4 of Blogtember from Jenni at Story of My Life is to write about a time you were very afraid.
June 14, 2011 I boarded a flight to Tortola, BVI by myself to join a group of 20 other people I had never met. I was starting a three week adventure around the Caribbean with Sea|Mester. I landed in the afternoon, alone, and took a cab to my hotel. This was the point where fear kicked in. I was alone in a foreign country, no cell phone, no one to call if I was in trouble, no way to know if I had been scammed into a fake program, and the ultimate fear that I was going to be kidnapped, raped, and murdered. Clearly, I was thinking logically. Hah. I remember FaceTiming my dad and bawling telling him how big of a mistake I had made coming on the trip. What if the people didn’t like me? What if they were mean? What if I was the weird girl from Arkansas? I can honestly say I’ve never been more scared in my entire life.
The next morning I took another local cab, boarded Ocean Star, and had no idea what to expect. We were sailing to multiple islands, and we had to sail the ship ourselves. I got there relatively early, and was the second girl there. I ended up immediately clicking with everyone on board, and my fears were quickly diminished.

What is a time when you were most afraid? How did you overcome your fear?
