I’ve been absent this week. That’s for sure. Work, exercise, and life in general have gotten the best of me. Despite my best intentions to post, I just haven’t been able to get my fingers to the keyboard.
I’m going to fall in line and start with my August goals.
1. Keep on my running schedule, without excuse.
The plan has me running four day a week, which is totally doable. I’m determined to run this half marathon above a 10:00 mile. I can do it.
2. Read 4 books.
A few of my friends and I started a book club. I’m loving reading again, and having people to talk to about the books. It makes them more dimensional since they aren’t just in my head now. :) I’m a nerd… So what!
3. Organize the office/guest room, and decorate it.
This room gives me hives right now. Our apartment complex has all the walls painted WHITE, and it’s enough to make me need a straight jacket. I just can’t handle everything being white. We can paint, but we have to paint it back before we leave, so I’m working on some creative solutions to eliminating some of the white. :) I also need to build a book shelf, and get some kind of something above my desk. I also want to paint some of the furniture. *sigh* Here come the projects! :)
4. Go to the gym at least 2 days a week.
Casey is a slave driver and she makes me go in the mornings. I always feel better and like I have a better handle on my day when I go, but it’s the worst thing in the world to roll out of bed at 4:40 am. Yikes. Maybe one day I’ll go 5 days a week and be fit and fabulous. *snort* yeah right.
5. Sleep 8.5 hours a night.
While it may seem RIDICULOUS that I have to put sleep on the list, it’s something that has become necessary. J and I are on opposite schedules, and he guilts me into staying up late. He gets up as I’m leaving for work, and gets home around 7:30-8 and wants to go to bed at midnight, where as I am up at 5:00 am, home at 6, and ready for bed at 9:00. This doesn’t leave us much time to see each other. I’m trying to convince him to get up and workout with me in the morning. It’s not going well. Hah.
Here’s to another month! :) Let’s hope that this August brings unseasonably cool temperatures and no humidity to those of us dying in the south.
Summer in the south makes me want to relocate permanently. Too bad J isn’t interested.
