Happy Monday, all! I had a slight panic when I showed up on Friday and my little blog was down. :( Thank the Lord she bounced back quickly and we’re all good over here. :) I’m sure you’ve all caught on lately that I’m just lacking direction, I don’t know what I want to do, and it’s super frustrating to me.
Yesterday morning, I woke up early and was scrolling through Facebook and saw a post by Gretchen Rubin about the Happiness Project. I read that more than a year ago with my book club and loved it, but had been thinking about it a lot lately and feeling compelled to reread it. Seeing her post made me realize that YES I needed to reread it. So, that is on my immediate to do list.
Also, yesterday while we were at church the pastor spoke about “figuring out what you’re supposed to be doing”… uhhhh Who, me?! So yes, my ears perked up and I listened, figuring a message doesn’t get delivered more clearly than that. He made three basic points:
1. What is your obsession? What do you find yourself thinking about in your off time, what do you want to do, and what do you use your brain power to do?
2. What is your opportunity? What things do you find that you have a chance to DO? What doors are put in front of you?
3. What is your opposition? What stands in your way? What are the barriers that you have to face in order to get to that specific opportunity?
Obviously, I have some thinking and listing to do. I get so confused because I feel like I have so many “obsessions” but when I combine the three, surely I should be able to identify one thing that I should be doing, right?
Here’s to making lists, identify obsessions, finding my happiness again, and remembering who I want to be.
