I love surprises. With that being said, I am
THE WORST really bad at being surprised. Once I know I want something, I become fixated on it… probably not in the most healthy way, but whatever. We’re not all perfect.
Anyway. J and I were at Sam’s grocery shopping two weeks ago and I saw this:
I knew I had to have it. Right away. Except that I don’t have that much cash laying around. I think if you stole my wallet you’d maybe make out with $40? Who knows… I digress- So I want the camera. I’ve always wanted one (this isn’t something new) I just hadn’t had one up close where I could buy it in a bright box assaulting me on my way into the store. I turned to J and said “Happy Birthday to MEEEEEE!” really obnoxious like. (He’s one lucky man, right?!) Like a good husband he says, “It’s not your birthday yet, and where is that much money coming from?” “Uhm, from the BIRTHDAY FAIRY! I don’t know, but I want it.”
Needless to say, I didn’t get it. Logic prevailed among the frozen foods when he reminded me that birthday fairies don’t actually exist. (He’s a liar, liar, pants on fire, I just know it.) We leave Sam’s without the camera.
Now I’m on a mission. I want the camera. This has now sparked my undivided attention and all the wonderful things I could be doing with the camera are coming to mind. Then I’m see posts of beautiful camera bags, and I’m just green with envy. So green I might just go buy one. Except it would just be a bag, because I don’t have a camera. Hah. Irony at its finest.
Long rambling story short I found one that I liked yesterday on sale. It’s different from the one at Sam’s, it’s the D5100 not D5200. I looked at all the specs and the D5100 will certainly serve my immediate needs, and the package I found came with all of these goodies!

So now I’m a dog with a new bone. A less expensive, more inclusive bone. I get home, and immediately start buttering J up. After much talk and discussion, we decide that we’re going to get it! Yay!
