Today is Jake and I’s second wedding anniversary. Some days I can’t believe it’s been two whole years and other days it feels like it’s been ten years. Time seems to be flying by, and I don’t want to lose sight of the little moments.
Year two was wonderful and challenging, and exciting and stressful. We purchased our first home, we survived my final semester of college, we went on vacation, we bought a new car, and we spent many nights at home watching Netflix.
Some days I wonder where the glamorous sparkles of marriage are, and then I realize that they’re mostly hidden in the quiet moments spent laughing together, or cooking dinner together, or building a buffet together. It’s the “insignificant” together time that makes a marriage.
I had no idea when I said, “I do” two years ago that I would love this man more today than I did then. It didn’t seem possible. Thank you for our wonderful life and the adventure we’re just beginning. I love you, Jake.
